Happy New Year!

We are all back from Grandma's place. Had Grandma's yummy signature steamboat. Yum yum! Well, as This Mummy was busy eating, dearest Grandma fed Baby Pooh all the yummilicious food. Ok...Mummy did feed Baby Pooh too. Oops, This Mummy just realised that we didn't take a single picture of all the good food! It was so good that we dived straight in into the meal! Anyway, great food, great company!

2009 has been a great year for Baby Pooh and all. It has been a wonderful year, having Baby Pooh in our midst. From hair, to botak, to an abundance of hair. Learning to flip, crawl, move, climb, walk....Learning to appreciate food from simple porridge to the beauties of chocolate...Learning to appreciate classical music with Mummy and all sorts of weird music with Dear Aunts...Learning to coo, babble, talk, imitate others....Learning to enjoy the natural air in the park, the fun we have at home together, the spacious play area in grandma's house, and the playground...Learning to enjoy Mummy's company, Daddy's company, being with all his beautiful Aunts and Uncle, his favourite books and toys...And just learning the ways of the world through his innocence. This Mummy loves Baby Pooh soooooo much.

I pray that God will grant This Mummy the patience, strength and wisdom to teach Baby Pooh. Just as I teach Baby Pooh to be a good boy, I pray that God will teach me to be a good mother,and to be a better person. God please grant us good health.

Leanring to walk!

The trip to Malaysia was memorable in many ways. For starters, Baby Pooh decided to walk unaided upon seeing his cousins running about the house. He enjoyed climbing the stairs in the house, enjoyed walking more in the house, and of course enjoyed his time with especially This Mummy! This Mummy and Baby Pooh shared the bed in Malaysia...for daytime naps as well as night time sleep. What about Daddy? Well, he slept on a mattress on the floor! Such sacrifice! And so, Baby Pooh enjoyed the comfort and fat warmth of Mummy beside him each night. And of course Mummy's reassuring taps at night made night time sleep so good for Baby Pooh.

Anyway, Baby Pooh's walking skills sure improved during this trip. This Mummy is so proud of his progress. Well done, Baby Pooh!

Oh no...

Darn, Baby Pooh caught the cold from this Mummy. Sigh. I feel so sorry for passing the darned cold to him. His appetite has been affected with all the sneezing and coughing...and lots of mucus! Eww. I never knew a baby had SO much mucus in a sneeze! It came right out, and even right onto his shirt. Talk about great aim! It was even more disgusting when he sneezed during his feed. He didn't eat too well, and preferred to leave the food in his mouth, without chewing or swallowing, and watching his VCD. Well, a sneeze came, and the food came all out, dirtying his high chair, and dirtying his shirt. The sneeze was so powerful that food also flew onto his body through his shirt. SIGH!!! Had to do a change of clothes halfway through his meal. GRRR. Well, he eventually finished his meal and had his nap, thank God.

Boy is now with my parents. As I'm not exactly in the pink of health either, my parents decided to take him with them to minimize his contact with me. I pray he will get well soon.

It's the holidays again!

Time flies! It's the holidays again and Baby Pooh gets to spend more time with Mummy and Daddy. We thank God for this gift of time. It had been wonderful so far, watching Baby Pooh develop day by day. He has been growing well, learning to walk better, learning to talk more too! It's great to see him wake up in the mornings, sit in a corner of his cot, and call out to us "Momma, Momma, Dad, Dad". So cool!

Baby Pooh is still learning to walk though. Able to cruise, able to walk while holding on to my hand.
This Mummy is still enjoying the moments of Baby Pooh's dependence on her, holding her hand. It is a wonderful feeling, the trust that he has in me.

Anyway, Baby Pooh is having a cold i think. I think I passed it to him. Blocked nose, slight cough, occasional sneezing. Sigh. I pray that he gets well soon.

13 months!

Happy 13 months to Baby Pooh! He is so adorable and I thank God for this precious gift of life!

Baby Pooh is learning so many new things every day. And he never fails to amaze me with each little thing learnt. I guess only this Mummy understands his language for now, and here goes...

Baby Pooh is 1 yr old!

To celebrate Baby Pooh's 1st yr, we decided to go for a professional photo shoot. It was an exciting experience and we looked forward to it. Although things did not turn out too well that afternoon, everything cooled down in time for the shoot. Baby Pooh clearly enjoyed himself, knowing he was the center of attraction!

Holiday!

One of those rare public holidays that we can all enjoy. We went for breakfast with grandma, grandpa and 2nd aunt at Zi Yean this morning. It was great to see Baby Pooh enjoying his food! We had a fantastic and yummy selection of dim sum, and Baby Pooh had his favourite bowl of fish porridge. Yum yum! Long time no eat good food! It was such a filling breakfast that I don't think I need lunch.

Sept Hols

The holidays are here! And Baby Pooh is 11 months old! One week of family time together. Thank God that Baby Pooh is well again. No more diarrhoea. His bowel movement is back to normal, thank God. Thank God that this Mummy is also on the road to recovery. This Mummy's cast is off. However, the bone is only partially healed. Pray for complete healing. Grandma comes over to rub this Mummy's foot, and Baby Pooh is sometimes subjected to hearing muffled, strange groaning and moaning sounds from this Mummy. Sighz. Baby Pooh is also seeing this Mummy alternating between walking with crutches and walking without them. Jia you to both of us as we learn to walk!

Baby Pooh has been having diarrhoea for a few days already. Drinking milk has been put on hold for at least 2 days already. All he consumes nowadays is mainly glucose. We give him apples and plain cereal (YUCK!) too, but they just come out anyway. I understand that a possible reason for this bout of diarrhoea is the teething process. Poor guy! I pray that he gets well soon.

10 months old!

Baby Pooh is 10 months and 1 day old. And he decided to celebrate this morning by welcoming the day with POOP in his pampers!! This Mummy couldn't do much as she was more or less confined to the bed. And so, Daddy to the rescue!! haha! what a way to welcome the day!

This Mummy & Daddy celebrated for Baby Pooh yesterday by eating Ben & Jerry ice cream. Woohoo!!

This Mummy's foot...

This Mummy went to see the doc yesterday.

Had to remove the cast first. The nurses who removed the cast commented that it was bloody heavy! Anyway, I had a good look at my foot after the cast was removed. I could move my foot slightly. My foot was not as swollen as last time. Ankle looked fine. But the sprained ankle was still painfully sprained.

I then proceeded to do the x ray. Thank God that those pple there were really helpful and patient, especially in helping me to align my foot properly to do the x ray.

Went back to clinic K and waited for my turn. Turns out that I was the doc's last patient of the day. He was nice and patient too. Thank God for him. Anyway, the ankle is now fine. The undisplaced distal fib is now ok. The foot, however, is still not ok. The 5th metatarsal bone is still fractured. Still kaput. Sigh. I pray that it will join back soon.

Previously, all I had were back slabs. Now, it is a proper rock solid cast. Argh. As hard as a rock. Yeah. According to the good doc, this is to keep the ankle in place, so that the bone will heal properly. This cast also comes with a shoe of sorts. It's to encourage me to start walking so that my leg muscles don't waste and rot during my time of rest. Easy to say! When they put on the cast, my foot had to be aligned 90 degrees in walking position. Well, I did not realise the severity of the sprained side until the nurses tried to angle my foot. SO PAIN!!!!! The sprained side hurt so bloody much!

Oh well, I have not tried walking yet. Gotta try before my muscles waste. My next appt is in 3 wks time. Until then, its rest for me. Happy resting...

Still recuperating

This Mummy is still recuperating at home, mostly bed-ridden.

What about Baby Pooh? Or Xiao TooToot? (as he is called by his dear aunts) He is enjoying his time at grandma's place everyday! Enjoying the attention and many activities to do, and of course the once-in-a-while outings! Baby Pooh still returns in the evenings, takes his last few meals, before retiring in his cosy cot.

Baby Pooh was sooooo zonked out yesterday that he slept at 7pm, all the way til this morning. Hmm, actually not all the way. He had his usual dream feed. However, Daddy was so engrossed in work that he didn't hear Baby Pooh wake up. I had to entertain Baby Pooh until Daddy came with the milk. So anyway, Baby Pooh slept. And woke up at 4am!!! Argh!!! We were both too tired to move any muscle. So Baby Pooh just played on his own, tickling my toes and cast. Play and play and play.....and he zonked out at 5am on his own!! So funny! That was humourous enough to start my day!

Immobile

Mummy Pooh is immobile. Fell from overhead bridge. Ended up with abrasions on both knees, a pair of torn jeans, sprained shoulder, bruising on upper arm, and a fractured ankle. My foot is now in a cast, and i now need crutches. Sigh. To think jeannie and i used to joke about how often we see other students in uni happily hobbling around in their crutches. Now my turn.

A New School Term

Tomorrow marks the start of a new school term. Daddy Pooh and Mummy Pooh will be going back to teach. Baby Pooh will also be going back to school! Grandma Baby Daycare School! Jia you to all of us, yet to survive another school term. *yawn*

It's been a very fulfilling june holiday. Baby Pooh has grown a lot and progressed very well indeed. This Mummy is soooo proud of him. He has learnt to "boogie", shuffle on his bum bum, crawl, and now he is attempting to stand. He is able to express himself through screams and a variety of cute sounds. And Baby Pooh has more cutey teeth sprouting out!

New Accomplishments!

Baby Pooh can do new things!!!

So exciting! But its a pity this mummy never seems able to catch these actions on camera or video..

Anyway, yesterday ( thursday), Baby Pooh was able to (1) clap his hands on his own (2) get back to sitting position from crawling position. Woohoo. I was sooooooo excited when I saw him move from crawling to trying to sit back down on the floor. And he looked equally proud of himself after he managed to! Well done Baby Pooh!

Now, he is thinking more and more aware of people around him. If Mummy was around, Mummy would be his preferred play partner and "feeder". But if mummy was around and daddy was feeding him instead, well, he sure knows how to get mummy to feed him. Poor daddy would be at his wits ends trying his best. sigh. But i'm truly enjoying my time with Baby Pooh, now that he is more predictable, talktative, and pretty much fun to be with. Thank God for my Baby Pooh.

Zoo!

Today was zoo day. Went to the zoo with Baby Joshua and his grandmas. It was bloody hot!!! And seeing Joshua wearing his cool sleaveless top and shorts did not help at all! haha. This Mummy wrapped Baby Pooh up in a t-shirt and long pants! haha. Cos this KS Mummy didn't want Baby Pooh exposed to the mosquitos and flying insects there. So.....there we were, all wrapped up!

Saw the parrots, white tigers (and the moat), caught the sea animals show (cool!), and saw the elephants, before making some fuss and then falling alseep. Well, there is a total lack of pictures as thie Mummy and Daddy were busy handling Baby Pooh, taking turns to carry, taking turns to push him on his pram, and taking turns to calm him down during his crying episode. Oh well. Anyway, he fell asleep just as we were looking at the kangeroos. Guess he is also sian of aussie land :P Had KFC for lunch, and Baby Pooh decided to wake up just as we were abt to place our order. Oh wellll. Anyway, had our lunch and zao!

As the weather was freaking hot, we decided to drive back to grandma's place for a swim. Yeah! Heavenly for Baby Pooh!!! He enjoyed himself so much. But all good things had to come to an end...so thats how we eventually went home to rest and thank God for a beautiful day spent together.

Pearly Whites!

Baby Pooh's pearly whites are beginning to grow and show!! Wow! I was giving him his evening face wash cum mouth wipe this evening when I discovered it! And Mummy Pooh is the first person to encounter this amazing discovery! So exciting!

Anyway, was giving Baby Pooh his usual gum wipe when I felt something in the way...something kinda pokey. And it was just right in the centre, right where his first teeth would grow. So, got Baby Pooh to move his tongue, and, lo and behold, there were Baby Pooh's beautiful teeth just starting to show! Not fully there yet, but just enough to see the exsistence of 2 gorgeous teeth! Boy, was I excited! So was Baby Pooh! Probably he was so glad that this Mummy finally knew what was bothering him the past few weeks. Praise the Lord that Baby Pooh is developing well!

Mummy Pooh sick...

This Mummy has not been feeling well since last Friday...the day before V Day. And the weather being so dry and hazy didn't quite help. Began with a running nose when I attended Break Our. Then a fever developed on saturday (V day!). Didn't attend church as i needed rest. But thank God, the fever subsided and I felt very much better after that. Now, it's just my nose. Blocked most of the time. So blocked that yesterday, when Boy pooed into his diapers, i didn't smell a thing until i saw it. Haha. That's how blocked my nose was. So today, thank God that I managed to "catch" him in time to do his big business...otherwise he would be soooo uncomfortable as I can't really smell a thing.

Anyway, need to rest now.. Daddy Pooh is playing with the Baby. I'll now have some time to myself.

4 months old and thanksgiving!

Baby Pooh is 4 months old today by date. I had a bittersweet experience this morning. Well, some background info... Some months back, he decided that latching on was tedious as he could not get his milk properly. And i was feeling quite disappointed too. So, to ensure that he gets his supply of breast milk, i have been expressing. So, his meals consist of expressed milk in a bottle plus a top up of formula if necessary. I was a bit disappointed at first cos of the lack of latching on and the lack of bonding thru direct breast feeding. But i'm used to bottle feeding him now!

So anyway, back to this morning. I was giving him his usual morning feed of expressed milk plus the top up. Expressed milk first. Don't want to waste breast milk, so gotta give that first. I cradled him as i usually did to bottle feed him. Then, this was the touching bit. My Baby Pooh gradually started turning his head, adjusting his own position himself. I wondered what he was up to at first. I thought he was in a playful mood and wanted to play instead of drink. But i just remained there, with the bottle still in his mouth. Well, eventually, he ended up in the "breast feeding" position, with his head facing where it would be if I were directly breast feeding him!
I was soooooo touched!!! At the point in time, a crazy idea shot thru my head. Should i just direct breast feed him now???? and then give the top up if he wants it? But, nah, I didn't want to screw up his feeding again, just when we are so nicely on track. But it was a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that my Baby still wants the breast.

Update about his night feeding... Last night was amazing. Mum sent him back in the evening at around 6.30pm. He was due for his feed, so we fed him at 6.45pm the "pump of the day" which was 4oz. I insisted on NO top up feed cos it was a bit early for him to go sleep. He drank and stayed awake to play and talk to Daddy Pooh. It was heart warming to see them together. Then Daddy and Mummy had dinner, with Baby Pooh watching on. He grew impatient towards the end as it was quite warm for him, staying in his pram in the kitchen. I carried him out while Daddy finished his dinner, after which Daddy took care of him while this Mummy finished her dinner and WASHED THE DISHES. smart of daddy... Eventually, he wanted more milk and we gave it to him at 8.45pm. He drank 1.5oz and fell asleep.......all the way til 4am!!!!! BEST!!!!! Thank God! We were both so amazed! Thank you Jesus! Baby Pooh had a good sleep! He had 4.5oz at 4am, went to bed, and woke up almost 8am. Indeed God is good, helping Baby Pooh to have a good night's rest. Thanks be to God!

Baby Pooh's new skill!

Baby Pooh has acquired a new skill! When place in his cot, you can find that his whole being would have shifted 90 degrees! In other words, he would end up in a new position perpendicular to his original position. Woohoo! Was to excited to take any pics when i saw that this morning cos his feet were sooooo sticking out of the cot as a result of his new position. Haha. My main concern at the time was to readjust him cos didn't want anything to happen to his delicate feet.

He also has new sounds now! From his usual vowel sounds and wet razzing sounds, his vowel sounds now include "oo" and "oh". So cool! Talky talky talk!!!

Happy CNY!

Today is the 4th day of the lunar new year. So far so good. Spent saturday, the eve, and first day in klang in my other half's family. It was so so. I just can't believe that I'm more traditional than his parents. They sure have their quirks. Sigh.

Anyway, we arrived back in Lion City on tue afternoon and headed for a super good lunch at my mum's place together with cousins. Yummylicious food! That's what i have been waiting for! Boy spent the night at my parents' for us two to recuperate at home. Thanks to an idiotic lizard, we had maggi mee for dinner. Grrr. I was pissed, having to eat maggi mee for dinner.

Anyway, I'm enjoying my week. My 2 most hectic days were the publis hols. So for what is left of the week, it is quite relaxing for me, thank God. This CNY, Boy is 4 mths old. Next yr this time, he will be 1 yr plus. It's gonna be exciting! I just wanna enjoy being with my boy for now!

Baby Pooh in Malaysia!

Baby Pooh took his first airplane journey today. When the plane took off, we asked him to suck his pacifier (first time somemore) and he just calmly did so. When the plane landed, he didn't even wake up from his slumber! So proud of him! He's very friendly towards his grandparents. Couldn't stop "talking"! He's so friendly that he even forgot his meal... Just hope he'll get back to his normal daily schedule soon... Haven't pooped since yesterday...

Growing well!

Baby Pooh went to the doc today for his jab. As of today, his weight was 8.5kg, length 65cm, head circumference 43cm. Doc took one look at his weight and declared that he was definitely growing well! According to her, that's the weight of most 1-year-olds! And not even all 1-yr-olds can reach that weight. WOW. But anyway, Baby Pooh is bound to lose some weight once he gets moving. Yeah. Once he can get his currently heavy bottom moving. His bottom is cutely heavy...helping him to learn to turn is one thing...trying to do it himself is another...his bottom is too heavy for him to turn on his own now. He usually flops back. Never mind, I know that he will do it one day! Jia You Baby Pooh!
